Washer

3.Washer

A rubber washer is flat annuls or ring that is often placed between a screw or nut and a surface. The washer is held in place by the screw or piece of hardware placed through it and the nut or fastener. The overall diameter of the washer is larger than the head of the screw and the hole in the center is smaller than the nut used to secure it. Such an arrangement increases the tension between the components at the interface.

Most often, a rubber washer is used in applications that require a tight seal; those that require some degree of give in the washer; those that are exposed to water, humidity or other liquids; mechanical devices to prevent vibration from spreading from one component to another thus reducing the noise levels.

Being stronger and less prone to damage, rubber washers will last longer, particularly if the fasteners around the washer are frequently tightened and loosened.
Another benefit of rubber washers is that they are more flexible than metal washers. This allows the fasteners to be secured more tightly and also allows for the slight expansion and contraction necessary in some applications.

Typical uses are mounting computer parts, like fans and hard disk drives, plumbing (to seal the control valve in taps) and in systems that might experience condensation, such as in a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. They are also common on boats, swimming pools, pressure washers and other water-related equipment.

We specialize in the manufacturing of Rubber washers from all types of rubber grades like Silicone, Viton®, EPDM, Nitrile, Neoprene, Natural & Others.

If a washer with unique dimensions and fluid resistance is required, MREW can customize the same specifically to your demanding requirement.
